When should you start solid food for your Baby

From Birth to 6 months Breast Milk only recommended for babies as per the American Academy of Pediatrics. Even though in the period of 4 months to 6 months, you can slightly put the practice of solid food too. 

Here don’t misunderstand solid food as we grew up eating habits. Food should be soft puree in these stages. Gradually growing up, especially teeth started to grow, you can start solid food, but take care that it should be softer for baby’s teeth too. 

Swallowing also should be keep in mind. Food should be soft and chewy. Hard food better to avoid, like chips, snax and all.

Here I introduce Healthy and tasty 15 Top Purees for your Smart Baby

No -1 Raggie wheat puree


Soak 1 tbsp Raggie and one tbsp whole wheat. Once both soaked well. Grind well into a fine paste. mix with water, strain to remove impurities. This mix bring to boil, stir continuously. 

Add any of healthy sweetener, better go for jaggery or brown sugar. Mix well stir abruptly to bring it to the thickening stage. Don’t make too thick. Let it reach a soft smoothy puree. Once it comes into room temperature, feed your baby.

No-2 Banana Powder Puree


Banana Powder you can buy from any shop, or if you have the patience to prepare at home. Buy raw bananas cut into pieces and let them dry well in sunlight. 

You have to wait some days to reach dry well. Once dried well, grind it to a fine powder. This powder you can store and reuse any time.

Take two tablespoons of banana powder mix well with water. Stir well till the lumps dissolve. Bring this mixture to boil, add sweetener, preferably go for organic jaggery powder or organic brown sugar. Continuously stir and make a soft paste form. Serve this puree once the temperature fit to feed your baby.


No-3 Sweet Potato Apple Puree

Take on Apple and One Medium Sweet Potato, peel off. Cut both apple and sweet potato into equal sizes. Steam cook these pieces well . preferably 10 minutes.
Once it cooked well and let it cool. Blend this cooked pieces with adding some water finely to form a paste. Your baby’s sweet potato apple puree ready to serve.



No-3 Green Peas Potato Puree

Ingredients needed

Potato                    1 cup
Green Peas            2Tbsp
Cumin Seeds         1/4 Tbsp
Water                      Half cup
Butter                      1 Tbsp

Preparation

Peel the potato and cut into cube pieces. Wash green peas and potato pieces well. Preferably go for fresh peas. Cook these vegetables in a pressure cooker by adding 1/4 tsp cumin seeds and a half cup of water. Cook in low flame.

Once cooked vegetables cooled down transfer this to blender grind well by adding butter.  Potato Peas Puree ready to serve your baby

No-4 Carrot Puree

Take two medium fresh carrots, wash well, and peel with a peeler. Cut into dice sized pieces. Put in a vessel add enough water to cook. Let it boil. Once the water start boiling make a flame in to simmer. Keep the vessel closed and let it cook for  10 to 15 minutes. Remove the water from the vessel wash the carrots with cold water, to stop cooking more. 


Blend this cooked carrot pieces to a fine paste, and it's ready to serve your baby. Gradually you can change the grinding stage as per your baby grows. Instead of making the fine paste, you can feed cooked carrots just by smashing with hands too.
